India and Australia to Collaborate on Scientific Research

The Hindu Business Line reports that India and Australia are to collaborate on state of the art research on a range of areas from agriculture and health.

It was reported at the Indo-Australia Science and Technology Fund that the Australian Government would provide A$2.7 million (Rs 11 crore) for nine joint projects, and India’s Department of Science and Technology will also supply the same amount.

Some of the projects will include the development of cancer targeting systems, possible systems to produce water free biogas, the development of rural communities, astronomy, astrophysics and renewable energy.

The funding from Australia will become one of the largest foreign support funds for developments in the field of science.
