The Haryana Government in India will setup a Carbon Credit Cell, to guide and encourage local entrepreneurs to implement relevant ‘green’ technology in order to earn carbon credits.

In addition to the focus of using clean technology, the Government is hoping to encourage Environment Management through effective use of resources, environmental audits and measures to reduce pollution load, waste recovery, recycling and waste recharge.

The proposed system of carbon credits and the reduction of the carbon footprint in the industrial sectors would provide greater opportunity to companies and entrepreneurs who want to utilise the benefits of green technology.

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) would also lay dual pipelines to supply fresh and treated water, also to help reduce environmentally unfriendly discharge from specific industrial sectors, as the conservation and efficient management of water resources has been declared as a focus area and priority of the Government.
