In the first India-US Strategic Dialogue, Education has arisen as a key subject and looks to be one which will benefit from Indo-US relations.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Kirshna have said there is great potential for advancing education through the contribution of US universities in India. Both parties were happy with the Obama-Singh 21st Century Knowledge Imitative which is aimed at increasing university linkages and junior faculty development exchanges, and also welcomed the formation of the India-US Higher Education Forum.

Also talks were held on issues regarding health. Both countries are looking forward to the Health Discussions on ways in which they can collaborate to provide affordable healthcare, enhance education and training in healthcare as well as prevent diseases and ensuring food and medical product safety.

What is evident among the discussions between Clinton and Kirshna is they are both very happy that their countries are using their relationship to improve the standard of living for their citizens, and to improve education standards for future prospects.
